Product Description
FlatLink MultiMount is designed for difficult off camber vehicle recovery scenarios where two different winch pull directions are often necessary. The two additional shackle pin mounting holes provide secure shackle attach points for multiple winch pull directions, while the center hole provides a secure conventional center pull shackle mount point. This arrangement eliminates any shackle side loading forces at the Multimount interface ( Shackles are free to rotate and align to the load directions).

It says right on the flatlink multimount not to side load and several photos show it with a side load, what gives?

Hi Emilio,
Most recreational offroaders are unaware of derating the WLL when it comes to sideloading shackles and that is why the safety information is engraved on the products. You will get the strongest pull on your equipment when your rigging is in line and true. Some of those photos are simply for demonstration purposes but it is OK to sideload if you derate your WLL and take into consideration how the load will affect your rigging. Information about sideloading shackles can be found via The Crosby Group here- http://www.thecrosbygroup.com/html/en-US/pdf/pgs/91.pdf
The FlatLink Multimount has engraved degree marks on the shackle pin mounting holes to help you configure your WLL in a sideloading scenario so you can be as safe as possible during a winching or complex recovery scenario.
